Ice Prince signed a record and distribution deal with 300 Entertainment on 4 September 2020, terms not disclosed

Two singles carry a 300 Entertainment phonogram credit, in September 2020 and March 2021. Nothing after does. Fifteen months after the signing, Warner Music Group bought the company behind that credit outright for $394m.

Rights covered
A record and distribution deal between Ice Prince (Panshak Henry Zamani) and 300 Entertainment, announced 4 September 2020 and reported as the label's first African signing. No contract, filing or press release stating the grant of rights, the term, or the territory was located, so what was actually assigned, licensed or administered is NOT established. What follows is the storefront credit chain, which records who each platform's data names as the phonogram rights holder. It is not a chain of title.

BEFORE. Everybody Loves Ice Prince (9 October 2011): "P 2011 Chocolate City Music" (Apple); Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". Fire of Zamani (28 October 2013): "P 2013 Chocolate City Music" (Apple); Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". C.O.L.D (29 June 2018): "P 2018 Super Cool Cats" (Apple); Deezer label "Super Cool Cats".

DURING. Make Up Your Mind (feat. Tekno), released 4 September 2020, the same day as the announcement: "P 2020 300 Entertainment" (Apple, via iTunes Lookup API); Deezer label "300 Entertainment", UPC 810043682114. KOLO (feat. Oxlade), 11 March 2021: "P 2021 300 Entertainment" (Apple); Deezer label "300 Entertainment", UPC 810043684347. These two singles are the only Ice Prince releases located that carry a 300 Entertainment credit on either storefront.

AFTER. No release located after 11 March 2021 carries a 300 Entertainment credit. To Be Continued (1 October 2023): Deezer label "Dapper Music & Entertainment". Fire & Ice (17 May 2024): "P 2024 Super Cool Cats Ent., under exclusive license to Dvpper digital LTD." (Apple); Deezer label "Super Cool Cats Entertainment". Starters (6 June 2025): "P 2025 Super Cool Cat" (Apple); Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". OLEKU II (13 March 2026): "P 2026 SIGNATURE MUSIC GROUP" (Apple). Testimony of Grace (1 May 2026): "P 2026 Opstream Music" (Apple); Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". One African Passport, One African Currency (19 June 2026): "P 2026 Red Cup Village / Super Cool Cats" (Apple and Deezer agree). Gimme Ya All (16 July 2026): "P 2026 Strteam Ent" (Apple). Heavy Wallet (16 October 2026): Deezer label "RoadHouse Jalingo".

SEPARATE AND STRONGER. The entity named in the 2020 and 2021 phonogram credits was itself bought outright fifteen months after the signing. Warner Music Group "purchased all outstanding shares of Theory Entertainment LLC d/b/a 300 Entertainment" on 16 December 2021 for final consideration of $394m against a $400m base price, per WMG's Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 31 December 2022. The same filing states WMG "acquired 300 Entertainment and subsequently launched 300 Elektra Entertainment, or 3EE". This is a regulatory filing and is the only primary document in this record.

Territory
Not stated in any source located. 300 Entertainment is a United States label and Ice Prince is Nigerian, but no source specifies the territory of the grant. Do not report it as worldwide.

Read this before citing: CRITICAL. No contract, no filing and no press release from either party describing the Ice Prince / 300 Entertainment grant of rights was located. Every characterisation of the deal below the announcement itself is inference from storefront metadata. Do NOT write that 300 Entertainment, or Warner Music Group, owns Ice Prince's masters. A phonogram credit records who a platform's supplied metadata names as the sound-recording rights holder for that delivery. It is not evidence of the underlying contract, of the term, or of what reverts to whom.

CONSIDERATION NOT DISCLOSED. No advance, royalty rate, equity, term or territory figure appears in any source located. Trade coverage at the time described it as a "record and distribution deal" without terms. Do NOT publish an estimate. Secondary commentary characterising it as "one of the biggest deals a rapper has signed in Africa" traces to remarks attributed to Ice Prince that could not be resolved to a fetched document, and must not be repeated as fact.

SIGNING DATE UNRESOLVED. 4 September 2020 is the ANNOUNCEMENT date: it is the date on the trade report and the release date of the single carrying the first 300 Entertainment credit. Secondary coverage claims an earlier signing, including a 2019 date and a remark attributed to Ice Prince in a May 2020 interview that he had signed "last year". Neither was resolved to a document the desk fetched. The record uses the announcement date and the earlier claims are flagged, not adopted.

CROSS-PLATFORM CONTRADICTION, VERIFIED. Apple and Deezer disagree on the current output. Starters (6 June 2025): Apple "P 2025 Super Cool Cat", Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". Testimony of Grace (1 May 2026): Apple "P 2026 Opstream Music", Deezer label "Chocolate City Music". Both were fetched from the platforms' own APIs on 25 October 2026. The desk cannot say which is correct. Report the disagreement; do NOT pick a side, and in particular do NOT report that Ice Prince has returned to Chocolate City on the strength of a Deezer label string.

IMPRINT NAME IS NOT STABLE. Four strings appear: "Super Cool Cats" (2018), "Super Cool Cats Ent." (Apple 2024), "Super Cool Cats Entertainment" (Deezer 2024), "Super Cool Cat" singular (Apple 2025). Whether these are one legal entity could not be established. Treat as a single imprint in prose only with that caveat attached.

COMPANY REGISTRATION COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED. Checked: Nigeria's CAC has no public API and no usable indexed record for "Super Cool Cats" or variants was located; Companies House UK requires an API key not available to the desk; MusicBrainz returns zero labels for a "Super Cool Cats" query. "Super Cool Cats" is therefore reported as a release credit and a self-described company, NOT as a verified registered entity.

IMPRINT STATUS IN 2016 IS CONTRADICTORY. On 20 May 2016 Ice Prince confirmed on Cool FM that his Chocolate City contract had ended, and reporting that day framed Super Cool Cats as his own new label. Three days later, on 23 May 2016, coverage of a Chocolate City Group press conference described Super Cool Cats as "a record label imprint under the popular Chocolate City Music label", owned and headed by Ice Prince, with M.I framing it as Chocolate City's "investment in the two new imprints". Ice Prince's own later account (11 March 2021) is that he "set-up my own company called Super Cool Cats, which I got a full endorsement from Chocolate City for". Exit and imprint-under-parent are different structures. The documents do not resolve which applied.

AUDIOMACK CLAIM NOT VERIFIED, NOT PUBLISHED. The desk attempted to confirm a reported Audiomack upload of "Make Up Your Mind" crediting Super Cool Cats rather than 300 Entertainment. Audiomack's track pages are client-rendered: direct requests to two URL forms returned HTTP 200 but served only the generic site shell, with no track, label or copyright metadata in the response body. The claim could not be traced to a fetchable document and is therefore NOT asserted anywhere in the record or the article.

MUSICBRAINZ HAS NO COVERAGE. A release query for artist "Ice Prince" returns count: 0. No registry corroboration of any release credit was available, so the credit chain rests on two commercial storefronts only.

MINOR DATE DISCREPANCY. Everybody Loves Ice Prince: Apple gives 9 October 2011, Deezer gives 4 October 2011. Not material to the deal, logged for accuracy.

JOS TO THE WORLD IS ABSENT. The 2016 album reported as launching Super Cool Cats does not appear as an album on either Apple Music or Deezer in the catalogue listings retrieved, so its phonogram credit could not be checked. Its role in the story rests on secondary reporting only.

CURRENT STATUS OF THE DEAL COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED. No announcement, filing, interview or trade report stating that the 300 Entertainment arrangement ended, lapsed or was not renewed was located. Searches for 2022 to 2024 coverage of Ice Prince and 300 Entertainment returned nothing on point. The absence of a 300 credit after March 2021 is evidence about metadata, not proof the agreement terminated. Do NOT write that he was dropped or that he left.
