Afrobeats singer and songwriter Billiana has released a new project, Unsaid Feelings, an EP he describes as his most personal body of work to date. The collection navigates deep-seated emotions that people often struggle to express, chronicling love, desire, heartbreak, and healing.
A personal statement#
Billiana explained that the title reflects the quiet weight of feelings many carry without voicing them. “Music gives me the freedom to express things I might not always say in everyday life,” he said. “Some conversations are difficult to have, but songs create space for honesty without limitations. Unsaid Feelings is built around those emotions we often carry quietly, whether it’s love, pain, hope, or uncertainty.”
The artist, who has been making music professionally for more than two years, said the project was shaped by a desire for cohesion and authenticity. “Instead of chasing trends, I focused on telling real stories and capturing different emotions that people experience but don’t always talk about,” he noted. “Every song represents a different perspective, but together they tell one complete story.”
Behind the name and the music#
Billiana views his stage name as an identity he has grown into over time. “I wanted a name that felt distinct and memorable, but also one that could represent every side of my artistry,” he said. “When people hear Billiana, I want them to think of honest music, strong storytelling, and records that stay with them long after they’ve ended.”
His creative process balances intention with spontaneity. “I usually come into the studio with an idea or emotion I want to explore,” he said. “But I don’t force creativity. When ideas aren’t flowing, I step away and experience life. Conversations, memories, and everyday moments often become the inspiration for new music.”
Listeners familiar with earlier tracks like “Steadily Ready” and “Resonate” can expect a broader emotional range on the EP. “Those two records only introduce different sides of the project,” Billiana said. “Unsaid Feelings explores a wider emotional range, and each song has its own identity while still fitting into the overall story. I wanted listeners to experience different moods without losing the thread that connects the project.”
What comes next#
Looking ahead, Billiana’s immediate focus is on supporting the EP. “Right now, my focus is on giving this project the attention it deserves,” he said. “Beyond the release, I want to perform these songs, connect with listeners in more cities, and continue building a catalogue that reflects my growth as an artist. Unsaid Feelings is an introduction, not the destination.”
