Big Loud Records Names Dusty Miller President of Catalog Acquisitions

Big Loud Records has named Dusty Miller as President of Catalog Acquisitions, overseeing sourcing, evaluation, and acquisition of music catalogs and related assets.

Dusty Miller, President of Catalog Acquisitions at Big Loud Records

Big Loud Records, based in Nashville, United States, and home to Morgan Wallen, has appointed Dusty Miller as President of Catalog Acquisitions. The move takes the company deeper into the catalog market as a buyer.

In the new role, Miller will oversee the label’s strategy for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring music catalogs and other music-related assets, the company said.

Appointment and mandate#

Miller brings more than 25 years of financial services experience and over 15 years in the music industry, according to Big Loud.

“This is an exciting day for Big Loud,” said Seth England, Partner and CEO. “As partners, we have long talked about developing a catalog acquisition component to our business. Dusty has spent many years on the financial side of the music catalog business and has proven to be an expert in his field.”

Miller added: “I’m incredibly excited to join Big Loud and help build the next chapter of its catalog acquisition business. I’m especially grateful to Seth, Craig, and Joey for their trust and for the opportunity to be part of such an entrepreneurial and forward-thinking organization. What they’ve built at Big Loud is incredibly special, and I’m excited to be a part of where it goes from here.”

Miller’s background#

Before joining Big Loud, Miller was Founder and President of Miller Wealth Sports & Entertainment, a wealth management firm he launched in 2024. He previously spent 13 years at Truist Bank, formerly SunTrust, advising clients across the sports and music industries.

His background also spans banking, lending, investment management, and financial planning, according to Big Loud. Across his career, he has worked with artists, songwriters, producers, and executives, the company said.

Catalog activity and company metrics#

Big Loud has already been active in the catalog market. In 2025, the company sold a minority stake in Morgan Wallen’s master recording catalog to Chord Music Partners in a deal valued at more than $200 million. The transaction covered a substantial minority holding in Wallen’s first three studio albums and came ahead of the release of his fourth album, I’m The Problem.

Chord Music Partners counts Universal Music Group (UMG) among its backers, after UMG paid $240 million for a 25.8% stake in the firm, an investment that valued Chord at $1.85 billion. Big Loud distributes its releases through UMG’s Mercury Records/Republic under a multi-year deal signed in 2024 that the label has said keeps the company independent.

Alongside its recording business, Big Loud runs a music publishing arm and remains an investor in the distribution platform Stem.

The appointment follows a run of senior hires and promotions at Big Loud, which expanded its executive team in 2025 as it marked its tenth anniversary. That reshuffle elevated three marketing executives and added three leaders across media, streaming, and global marketing.

Founded in 2015, Big Loud Records reports the following metrics:

  • More than 102 billion global on-demand streams
  • 37 No. 1 country airplay hits in the United States
  • Three Billboard Hot 100 all-genre No. 1s
  • More than 150 Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifications

The label’s roster includes Morgan Wallen, HARDY, ERNEST, and Lauren Alaina, among others.
