Adobe has partnered with Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) to bring fully licensed music clips from major artists into Premiere mobile, its mobile video editing software.
On Tuesday, Adobe announced the partnership, which it says will help creators find tracks they like, shape their videos around the music and share their stories on one platform. The company describes the deal as combining music from two of the world’s leading music companies with Premiere mobile’s editing tools.
What creators can do#
Creators can build videos around the songs that inspire them from the first cut. Users can start from scratch or use customizable templates paired with music.
- Add up to 60 seconds of a popular track to a video
- Export finished videos and post them to licensed social platforms, such as YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels
- Use video tools, audio tools and Adobe Firefly-powered AI (artificial intelligence) features
Licensing terms#
Music from UMG and WMG will arrive on Premiere mobile soon. The tracks are licensed for personal, non-commercial use. Users who need commercially licensed music can continue to use Adobe Stock Audio.
Rachel Scarpati, VP, Digital Strategy and Business Development at WMG, said: “The way people experience and engage with music extends far beyond traditional listening platforms. Our partnership with Adobe Premiere mobile integrated WMG’s catalog directly into the creative process, opening up new possibilities for creative expression and deeper fan engagement.”
