General Management Corporation (GMC-SA) is a music-technology company incorporated in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire in March 2023 as a societe anonyme under OHADA company law, with registered capital of 100,000,000 FCFA. It sells African collecting societies an audio-fingerprinting monitoring service: beacons installed in bars, restaurants, hotels and other public venues identify tracks in real time against a reference database, logging where, when and how often each one plays. The collecting society then uses that data for royalty distribution. GMC-SA does not itself collect or distribute royalties and does not own or license musical works.
Its president is Salif Traore, the Ivorian musician known as A’Salfo, lead singer of Magic System and commissioner-general of the FEMUA festival.
