RE Media is an Egyptian content production and distribution group founded by Richard Elhaj, former chairman of Pyramedia, in Cairo in 2004. The company operates a cluster of Arabic-language label and channel brands, among them Moseeqa Network, Pyramedia, Awtar, ElKhan, ElWaha, Relax Arabia and DJ Sha3by, according to its own site.
RE Media remains independently operated by Elhaj. On 23 August 2023, Reservoir Media and its Abu Dhabi subsidiary PopArabia announced the acquisition of part of RE Media’s catalogue, described as more than 6,000 recordings and compositions, including the Moseeqa and Moseeqa TV sub-labels and several YouTube channels. Reservoir’s own release frames this as a catalogue purchase rather than a sale of RE Media’s corporate equity or distribution business, and re-music.org continues to present the company as an operating group. No source names the price or the exact share of the catalogue involved.
The catalogue picked up in the 2023 deal includes Amr Diab’s 1986 debut album “Ya Tareeq,” named specifically in the Reservoir/PopArabia announcement. RE Media is based in Cairo and active across Egypt and the wider MENA market.
