Gaaga Muzik

Larry Gaaga's own Lagos recording imprint, distributed independently while he has held senior A&R roles at Def Jam Africa and gamma.

Gaaga Muzik is the recording imprint of Nigerian artist and executive Larry Gaaga (Larry Ndianefo), used for his own releases since at least 2019. Phonogram credits on Apple Music and Deezer place the bulk of his catalogue, including Letter From Overseas (2022) through Off White x GAGA (2026), under distribution by Ziiki Media, a South Africa-headquartered independent distributor. One 2026 single, Come On, carries a joint credit of “Gaaga Muzik / gamma. Africa.”

The imprint is independently held by Gaaga, who has run it alongside two successive full-time executive roles at major companies: Vice President, A&R at Def Jam Africa from June 2022, and, since September 2023, Vice President and General Manager for Africa at gamma. No public source ties Gaaga Muzik itself to either employer as a subsidiary or equity stake; trade reports on both appointments (Music Business Worldwide, Pulse) describe his executive roles without mentioning the imprint.

A separate cluster of releases by 2Baba, credited jointly to “Def Jam Recordings Africa / Hypertek / Gaaga Entertainment,” belongs to 2Baba’s own label Hypertek Digital rather than to Gaaga’s solo catalogue; Apple and Deezer disagree on the exact corporate name on those credits, a discrepancy this desk has not resolved.
