The label traces, by its own catalogue history rather than by a filing this desk has located, to an earlier imprint called Alapomeji Records: MusicBrainz and Discogs both independently credit the original 2008 Nigerian CD of 9ice’s Gongo Aso, catalogue number AP CD 04, to “Alapomeji Records,” not AAR. No public document marking a renaming, merger or transfer between Alapomeji Records and Alapomeji Ancestral Records has been found.
