Davido and Sowore Clash Over Osun Governor in Nigeria

Davido and Omoyele Sowore exchanged public insults after Sowore criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

'You all feed off Nigerians pain'

Davido and Omoyele Sowore are trading public attacks on social media after Sowore criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Davido’s uncle, in an interview about the state’s upcoming governorship election in Nigeria.

The dispute began when Sowore called Adeleke “brainless” and said he had “nothing upstairs” in the interview. He also described Osogbo, the Osun State capital, as a “war zone” while criticising infrastructure in the city.

Davido later shared a clip of the interview on X and responded by calling Sowore an “Arindin,” a Yoruba term used to describe someone considered foolish or unintelligent.

Sowore’s rebuttal#

Sowore replied that the description was more appropriate for Adeleke. He also criticised the governor’s political record, including Adeleke’s support for Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

Sowore accused the Adeleke family of treating Osun State as a “private estate” to finance their lifestyle and described them as “oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled.”

“The real arindin is your uncle, @AAdeleke_01, who had to go back and obtain the equivalent of a GED after he had already served as a Nigerian Senator,” Sowore wrote.

He added:

“The real arindin is your uncle who chose @officialABAT as his presidential candidate, apparently hoping that imbecilic political loyalty would allow your family to continue treating Osun state as a private estate to finance your extravagant lifestyle. All of you are the same anyway, oppressive, corrupt, incompetent, and entitled spoilt brats, feeding off the pain, suffering, and sorrow of Nigerians. But the tables will turn. The Nigerian people will not endure this forever.”
