Megan Thee Stallion Signs Distribution Deal with Interscope, Retains Masters

Megan Thee Stallion has entered a global distribution agreement with Interscope Records, the rapper announced Friday. The partnership provides label services for her independent imprint, Hot Girl Productions, while she retains full ownership of her masters and publishing.

The partnership, which also involves Roc Nation, arrives as the Houston artist prepares to release her next album.

“I’ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry,” Megan Thee Stallion said. “This distribution partnership with Interscope allows me to stay true to my creative vision while also increasing my global reach. I’m excited for this next chapter of growth and the expansion of my Hot Girl Productions empire.”

Steve Berman, Vice Chairman of Interscope Capitol, said the label was drawn to her singular voice and cultural impact.

The announcement follows a teaser on Instagram for her upcoming album, which she described in an interview on the IMO podcast with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson as a reintroduction of her alter-ego, Tina Snow. She said she is still finalizing the title.
