Davido’s ‘Oriadé’ Debuts at No. 2 on Spotify Global Chart

Nigerian artist Davido has released his sixth studio album, Oriadé, a 13-track project that debuted at number two on Spotify‘s Global Albums chart and reached number three in the United Kingdom.

The album’s title translates to “the crowned one,” a name that signals the artist’s stance 15 years into his career. Fifteen producers contributed to the project, with Classic and Sensei as the only producers credited on more than one song: Already Falling and Guide. Longtime collaborator Peruzzi wrote three tracks and appears on additional songs.

Tracklisting and Features

Oriadé opens with On The Road, a slower-tempo introduction, followed by Amazing Grace featuring Ghanaian artist Black Sherif. Julie carries a melodic resemblance to Ruger and BNXN‘s Romeo Must Die, though the album does not clarify whether the connection is a sample, interpolation, or coincidence.

Two tracks form the project’s commercial centre: I Know Who I Be, produced by JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay, and B4 B4 featuring Mayorkun and Fola. B4 B4 held the top position on Spotify Nigeria’s chart for three consecutive days, while I Know Who I Be has remained among the album’s most streamed songs since release.

Already Falling interpolates Elvis Presley‘s Can’t Help Falling in Love within an Afrobeats arrangement by Classic and Sensei. Yaya features French singer Aya Nakamura and incorporates four languages in its hook: Igbo, Yoruba, French, and English.

Chart Performance

The album debuted at number two on Spotify’s Global Albums chart. It also entered the top ten in the United States debut chart and reached number three in the United Kingdom.

The closing track, My Light, reflects on Davido’s 15-year career and serves as the album’s only explicitly retrospective moment.
