Cruxstone Development and Investment Limited, a real estate firm in Nigeria, hosted the inaugural One Nation Festival at Nautica Beach Resort, its business, hospitality and leisure development in Lagos, Nigeria, on October 1, 2026.

The event formed part of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary. The company said it was successful and that planning for the next edition on October 1, 2027 has begun, with further details to be released in the coming months as the festival develops into a recurring platform for Nigerian culture, creativity, tourism and shared identity.

Festival format and theme#

The first edition was themed “Many Cultures. One People. One Celebration.” It combined culture, music, sport, food, hospitality, leisure and recreation in a day-long programme at Nautica Beach Resort.

Cruxstone said the festival was conceived as a platform to celebrate Nigeria differently and to showcase Lagos as a destination for lifestyle and tourism experiences, reflecting the country’s cultural diversity and creative energy, and reinforcing the role of destination-led experiences in Lagos’ tourism and creative economy.

Nautica ecosystem#

For Cruxstone Group, the event is part of a broader strategy to create destination developments that support tourism, hospitality, community, culture and economic activity. The company describes the Nautica Ecosystem as an integrated destination for lifestyle, hospitality, leisure, recreation, entertainment and tourism.

Adetoro Bank-Omotoye, chief executive officer of Cruxstone Group, said Nautica reflects the group’s ambition to rethink how developments are conceived and experienced:

“Our vision for Nautica has always gone beyond simply developing real estate. We are building an integrated destination ecosystem, a place that can create experiences, attract people, support businesses and contribute meaningfully to the tourism and hospitality economy of Lagos. We believe the future of development is not only about the buildings we create, but about the destinations, communities and experiences that grow around them.”

“Nautica Beach Resort is already playing an important role in bringing that vision to life. It gives people a reason to experience the destination today while the wider Nautica vision continues to evolve. One Nation Festival is another expression of what is possible when culture, hospitality, leisure, entertainment and tourism come together within one destination.”

Tournament and cultural programming#

The festival included the Nautica Beach Resort x Socialiga Football Tournament, with eight teams:

  • Cruxstone
  • Landmark
  • Page Finance
  • Triber
  • Medbury
  • Betking
  • Rise
  • 5Betking

Landmark won the tournament and received a cash prize of one million Nigerian naira (₦1 million).

At KiVu Beach Club, the beachside area was turned into a Palmwine Village with fresh palm wine, local dishes and traditional elements. Cultural dancers and performers also took part.

Across the resort, guests took part in music, food, fashion, recreation, culture and entertainment programming.

Tourism and visitor economy#

Utibe Bassey, general manager for business development and strategy at Cruxstone Group, said the distinction from a conventional concert or beach event was central to the festival’s creation.

“The idea behind One Nation was to create a different way to celebrate Nigeria. Independence Day gives us an opportunity not only to reflect on who we are, but also to celebrate our culture, our creativity, our food, our music, our sports and the experiences that bring us together as a people.”

“We also want One Nation Festival to contribute to a bigger conversation around Lagos as a tourism destination. Lagos already has an extraordinary cultural and creative energy, and our goal is to consistently create experiences that put the city at centre stage, attract visitors and give people more reason to explore Lagos. We see One Nation growing into an important annual platform for that.”

Cruxstone said destination developments can support hospitality operators, vendors, entertainers, creatives, event producers, lifestyle brands and other tourism-connected businesses by combining entertainment, sport, hospitality, food, cultural experiences and recreation in one environment. The company said it is focused on creating places that generate activity, experiences and long-term value, rather than viewing development only in terms of buildings.
