Highvibes Signed Beatport in January 2026 for Electronic Releases Only. No Terms Were Disclosed, and No Highvibes Credit Turns Up on Beatport Yet.

Highvibes Distribution announced a "global distribution and licensing" partnership with Beatport on 26 January 2026, scoped to electronic-genre releases. Neither side has disclosed a fee, and nine months on, this desk could not find a Highvibes-credited page on Beatport itself.

Deal sheet

Status
Announced 26 January 2026 on Highvibes Distribution's own blog, under the headline "Highvibes Signs Global Distribution and Licensing Deal with Beatport". The announcement is live as at 2 October 2026, the date this desk read it. NOT ESTABLISHED: whether any release has actually been delivered through the integration. Searches for a Highvibes-credited label or artist page on Beatport, run on 2 October 2026, returned no match, and a direct request to a candidate label URL on beatport.com returned HTTP 403. That is recorded as inconclusive, not as proof that no delivery has occurred; beatport.com returns the same 403 to this server's requests generally, which is consistent with routine bot-blocking rather than with anything specific to Highvibes. No Beatport-side announcement, newsroom post or statement confirming the partnership has been located: a site search of Beatportal, Beatport's own news arm, run on 2 October 2026, returned no article mentioning Highvibes.

Rights covered
A DISTRIBUTION AND LICENSING INTEGRATION FOR ELECTRONIC-GENRE RELEASES ONLY, on the face of the only document that states it. Highvibes' own post describes the arrangement as letting the company deliver releases from its roster into Beatport's marketplace, gated by Beatport's own electronic-genre classification; it is not described by either party as reaching any other genre. This is NOT an acquisition, NOT an equity investment, NOT a transfer of masters or publishing, and NOT a joint venture: nothing in any source read for this record supports any of those characterisations. Highvibes remains the distributor of record for the artists on its roster; Beatport is a delivery destination and marketplace, not a licensee of masters or publishing in the sense those words are used elsewhere on this desk. No fee, royalty split, minimum guarantee, revenue share or term was disclosed by either party, which is a meaningful absence given the direct comparison available: when Beatport Group and TuneCore announced a comparable global partnership on 26 April 2023, opening the same Beatport marketplace to any TuneCore artist on an Unlimited distribution plan, the fee was disclosed in that announcement as a US$7.99-a-month add-on, billed annually. Nothing examined for this record states that TuneCore arrangement has ended, and Highvibes' announcement does not mention it or claim to be a first route to Beatport for an artist based on the continent.
Territory
Not geographically limited on the face of either party's statement; the gate on this arrangement is genre, not territory. Highvibes markets itself to Ghana and, per its own marketing, wider West and Southern Africa. Beatport's marketplace is global. The 26 April 2023 TuneCore comparison named Nigeria among TuneCore's own operating markets in that announcement's release, which this record cites only to establish that a fee-disclosed route to the same marketplace already existed for African TuneCore artists; it does not bear on the territorial scope of the Highvibes arrangement itself, which no source states.

Sources
Highvibes Distribution's own blog post, "Highvibes Signs Global Distribution and Licensing Deal with Beatport", read directly by this desk on 2 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Dated 26 January 2026. Sole source for the deal's existence, its genre scope, and both on-record quotes: chief executive Gbolahan Mathias Ogunade frames the arrangement as being "about readiness and access"; the post separately stresses "the importance of accurate genre classification, metadata, and rights readiness" as the condition Beatport imposes on any delivery. President Welbeck Konney is also quoted in the post. No fee, royalty split, minimum guarantee or term is stated anywhere in it. · Trade carriage of the same 26 January 2026 announcement, fetched and read by this desk on 2 October 2026. Corroborates the existence and genre scope of the partnership; does not add any commercial term beyond what the Highvibes post states. · Highvibes' own "digital music store" page, fetched by this desk on 2 October 2026 (HTTP 200, 476KB). Carries a Beatport logo among a carousel of 56 platform logos; the carousel also includes Audiomack and non-store items such as Audible Magic and a Facebook-fingerprinting service, which this record reads as generic reach marketing rather than as a list of live, named integrations. The image files in the carousel were uploaded to the company's media library in April 2025, nine months before the 26 January 2026 announcement, per the upload-path dates visible in the page's own markup. This record treats the logo's presence and the announcement as two separate facts and draws no inference about an earlier start date from the image timestamp. · Highvibes' own LinkedIn company page, read 2 October 2026. Source for HQ location (Tema, Greater Accra, Ghana) and founding year (2019), neither corroborated by any register. · Beatportal site search, run by this desk on 2 October 2026. NEGATIVE FINDING: no article mentioning Highvibes. Beatport's own news arm has not, as far as this desk can determine, published anything about this partnership. · Direct request to a candidate Highvibes label URL on beatport.com, made by this desk on 2 October 2026: HTTP 403. Beatport's general-purpose pages (beatport.com homepage) return the same 403 to this server, consistent with routine bot-blocking; this record does not read the 403 as evidence either way on delivery. · PRWeb release, Beatport Group and TuneCore global partnership, dated 26 April 2023, read by this desk on 2 October 2026. Quotes Beatport Group chief executive Robb McDaniels and TuneCore chief executive Andreea Gleeson. Discloses the commercial term this record compares against: a US$7.99-a-month add-on fee, billed annually, for any TuneCore artist on an Unlimited distribution plan. Names Nigeria among TuneCore's own operating markets. Cited here for comparison only; it is not a source for the Highvibes arrangement. · Beatport's own labels-portal page, fetched by this desk on 2 October 2026 (HTTP 200). Footer reads verbatim "© 2004-2025 Beatport, LLC", the primary source for the counterparty's legal name and founding year in this record. · Beatport's own about page, fetched by this desk on 2 October 2026 (HTTP 200). States a 2004 founding and describes a "Beatport Group" portfolio (Beatportal, Beatport DJ, Beatport Streaming, Loopcloud, Plugin Boutique, IMS) but names no parent company above that group; this record does not assert one.

Read this before citing: THIS IS A LICENSING AND DELIVERY INTEGRATION, NOT AN OWNERSHIP EVENT. Nothing read for this record supports describing the Highvibes / Beatport arrangement as an acquisition, an equity investment, a joint venture, or a transfer of masters or publishing. Highvibes remains the distributor of record for its own roster. Beatport is a delivery destination and marketplace gated by its own genre classification, not a licensee or owner of anything described in this record. Any citation of this record as reporting a sale, investment or rights transfer is a misreading of it.

TERMS WERE NOT DISCLOSED, AND A COMPARISON IS AVAILABLE THAT WAS. Neither party disclosed a fee, royalty split, minimum guarantee or term for this specific integration. That silence is notable because a directly comparable arrangement, Beatport Group's 26 April 2023 global partnership with TuneCore opening the same marketplace to TuneCore artists on an Unlimited plan, did disclose a figure: a US$7.99-a-month add-on, billed annually. This record states the TuneCore fee because it is documented, and states "not disclosed" for the Highvibes arrangement because it is not. It does not assume the two arrangements carry comparable terms.

NO BEATPORT-SIDE CONFIRMATION WAS LOCATED. This record is sourced entirely to Highvibes' own blog post and one independent trade write-up of it. A Beatportal site search returned no article mentioning Highvibes. That absence may simply mean Beatport did not consider a single distributor's onboarding newsroom-worthy, which is common, and it is not read here as evidence the partnership is not real. It does mean no document carrying Beatport's own account of the deal's terms, scope or start date has been found by this desk, and this record's characterisation of the arrangement rests on the Highvibes side's account alone.

DELIVERY COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED. Searches for a Highvibes-credited label or artist page on Beatport, and a direct request to a candidate label URL on beatport.com, returned no match and an HTTP 403 respectively, both on 2 October 2026. Beatport returns the same 403 to this server's general requests, which this record reads as routine bot-blocking rather than as evidence specific to Highvibes. This is recorded as inconclusive. It is not proof that no release has moved through the integration, only that this desk could not confirm one had, nine months after the announcement.

THE APRIL 2025 LOGO DOES NOT MOVE THE START DATE. Highvibes' own "digital music store" page carries a Beatport logo in a 56-logo carousel whose image files were uploaded to the company's media library in April 2025, nine months before the January 2026 announcement. A logo in a general reach carousel, which also includes non-store items, is marketing material about where a distributor says it can deliver. It is not evidence that a specific, named integration was operationally live on that date. This record states both facts and draws no inference connecting them.

A FEE-DISCLOSED ROUTE TO THE SAME MARKETPLACE ALREADY EXISTED. Beatport Group's global partnership with TuneCore, announced 26 April 2023, opened Beatport to any TuneCore artist on an Unlimited distribution plan, anywhere TuneCore operates; TuneCore's own release named Nigeria among its markets. Nothing found for this record states that arrangement has ended. This is cited to give any artist reading this record an existing, documented alternative with its terms in writing, not to suggest the two companies are related or that one supersedes the other.

NEITHER COMPANY'S LEGAL IDENTITY IS FULLY ESTABLISHED. Highvibes Distribution's legal entity name and registration could not be obtained from any public Ghanaian register: the Registrar General's Department publishes no public company-name search, and the online portal its own site links to returned an error page when checked on 2 October 2026. Beatport, LLC is sourced to the company's own footer text on labels.beatport.com ("© 2004-2025 Beatport, LLC"); no parent company is named on about.beatport.com, and this record does not assert one. Both company records are held as DRAFTS for this reason: clearing a directory profile for publication is the Directory Desk's call, not this desk's.

CONSIDERATION. No fee, royalty rate, revenue split, equity or any other consideration has been disclosed by any party for the arrangement this record documents. "Not disclosed" is the accurate answer and no figure should be added to this record without a source that states one.

On 26 January 2026, Ghana-headquartered Highvibes Distribution announced what its own blog called a “global distribution and licensing” partnership with Beatport, the electronic-music platform trading since 2004 as Beatport, LLC. That post is the only document either side has published naming this specific integration. A site search of Beatportal, Beatport’s own news arm, run for this record on 2 October 2026, returned no article mentioning Highvibes.

What the arrangement is, on the face of the only document that states it: a direct-delivery integration letting Highvibes route electronic-genre releases from its roster into Beatport’s marketplace. What it is not, because nothing in the sourcing supports it: an acquisition, an equity investment, a joint venture, or any transfer of masters or publishing. No fee, royalty split, minimum guarantee or term was disclosed by either party.

Genre is the gate. Both companies describe this as reaching electronic music only. Highvibes CEO Gbolahan Mathias Ogunade is quoted in the company’s own post framing the deal as “about readiness and access,” and the post stresses “the importance of accurate genre classification, metadata, and rights readiness” because Beatport will only take deliveries that clearly sit inside its own defined electronic genres. A release that does not clear that bar is not eligible, deal or no deal.

Not the first route to Beatport for an artist based in Africa. Nearly three years earlier, on 26 April 2023, Beatport Group chief executive Robb McDaniels and TuneCore chief executive Andreea Gleeson announced a global partnership opening the same marketplace to any TuneCore artist on an Unlimited distribution plan. TuneCore’s own release named Nigeria among its operating markets. The fee was disclosed: a US$7.99-a-month add-on, billed annually. Nothing examined for this record states that arrangement has ended. Highvibes’ announcement does not mention it and does not claim to be a first for the continent.

A logo predates the press release. Highvibes’ own “digital music store” page carries a Beatport logo among 56 platform logos in a carousel whose image files were uploaded to the company’s media library in April 2025, nine months before the January 2026 announcement. A logo in a reach carousel is marketing material about where a distributor says it can deliver, not evidence that a specific integration was live on that date. This record treats the two as separate facts and draws no inference about an earlier start date from the image timestamp.

No Beatport-side confirmation located. The partnership is sourced entirely to the Highvibes side and to one independent trade write-up of it. That may simply mean Beatport did not consider a single distributor’s onboarding newsroom-worthy, which is common; it means no document carrying Beatport’s own account of the deal’s terms has been found by this desk.

Delivery could not be confirmed. Searches for a Highvibes-credited label or artist page on Beatport, run on 2 October 2026, returned no match, and a direct request to a candidate label URL on beatport.com returned HTTP 403. That is recorded as inconclusive, not as proof that no release has moved through the integration.
