Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Wizkid will headline the opening night of Detty December Fest 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 18, the first confirmed act for the two-week event.
The festival runs through December 30 and covers music, culture, food, fashion and entertainment. It is produced by Livespot360, the entertainment company behind Cardi B’s performances in Nigeria and Ghana. Tickets are available through official festival channels.
Wizkid’s recent releases and touring#
Wizkid’s headline slot follows a 2025 that included a joint EP with Asake and a tour behind his 2024 album Morayo.
- In January, Wizkid and Asake released the joint EP Real, Vol. 1.
- Morayo peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
- Later singles included “Dynamite” with Tyla and “Gimme Dat” with Ayra Starr.
- “Gimme Dat” earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
New Pulse Stage added#
The 2026 edition introduces a second stage. Wizkid will perform on the main Festival Stage, while the new Pulse Stage will spotlight emerging artists, fresh sounds and rising talents shaping the next generation of African music.
Darey Art Alade, Livespot co-founder and chief creative officer, said the new stage reflects the growing global influence of African music and creates more opportunities for younger artists.
“This platform will allow emerging performers to share the festival with established stars and contribute to the continued growth of Africa’s music ecosystem,” he said.
More headliners and performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
