Crux Global

Crux Global is a digital music distribution, PR and brand-management company that describes itself as African-owned and gives its headquarters as Accra, Ghana. Its own website and its company profile both give a founding year of 2019.

Its own site describes four lines of business: music distribution and release support, artist and creative education through Crux Global Academy, entertainment and artist partnerships, and a sports and culture arm whose named work is with the Basketball Africa League and NBA Africa. The site states that its distribution is “supported by our relationship with Sony Music Group & The Orchard” and carries The Orchard’s logo.

On 19 September 2024, Sony Music Entertainment and Crux Global announced a three-tier distribution and artist-services partnership for Ghana, with a distribution tier running through The Orchard, a full-service tier under Sony Music Africa, and a catalogue tier. No financial terms were disclosed, and the announcement described no acquisition and no equity investment.

Crux Global appears as a label credit on Ghanaian recordings from 2020 onward, in most cases jointly with MOVES Recordings, a UK company. MOVES Recordings’ own website carries a Crux Global page describing Crux as “a portal to bring the freshest Ghanaian music from the streets to the globe” and naming releases by Medikal, Shatta Wale, Kelvyn Boy, DJ Mic Smith and Kojo Funds.

Corporate identity not established. No company register entry resolving to this Accra business was located. Ghana’s Registrar General’s Department has no working public company search reachable by this desk. The only active company on the UK register bearing this name, CRUX GLOBAL LTD, number 16006514, was incorporated on 9 October 2024, three weeks after the Sony announcement, declares software development, data processing and insurance broking as its business, and has no officer matching either named Crux Global co-founder. It is not treated here as the same business.
