Zylofon Music and Media Company Limited was a Ghanaian entertainment company under the Zylofon Media brand, built by Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) from 2017 to 2018 into one of the country’s most visible music and broadcast businesses. It signed Shatta Wale to a three-year 360 management deal on 31 January 2018 and Stonebwoy to a contract signed 15 June 2017 that ran until 18 May 2019, and operated Zylofon FM and Zylofon TV.
A police investigator’s High Court testimony in the criminal prosecution of NAM1 states that Zylofon Media received GHS 84,480,811.00 between 2017 and 2018 from two of NAM1’s other companies, Menzgold Ghana Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Ghana Limited, and that Zylofon Media “was established solely as an entertainment business,” with the investigator finding “no justifiable reason for the huge transfers.” Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crime Office named Zylofon Music and Media Company Limited among entities whose accounts it froze in a 29 January 2019 order signed by Jacqueline Avotri, and Zylofon FM and TV suspended broadcasting on 30 January 2019. Shatta Wale redirected his bookings and public affiliation to his own Shatta Movement imprint the same week.
