Zikode Records is a South African record label founded in February 2022 by amapiano DJ and producer DBN Gogo (Mandisa Radebe). It operates as her own imprint, signing and developing acts within the amapiano and South African dance scene; the roster has included Stixx alongside DBN Gogo’s own releases.
The label was launched in partnership with Universal Music Group’s Africa division. DBN Gogo has described the arrangement as an A&R structure: UMG Africa gets access to her catalogue, while she retains control over which acts Zikode signs. No corporate filing for the label was located, so the exact ownership split and terms of the UMG arrangement are not independently confirmed beyond DBN Gogo’s own public statements. Apple Music’s South African storefront has credited Zikode jointly with Universal Music (Pty) Ltd on the phonogram line of her lead-artist releases since the label’s February 2022 debut single, “Bambelela,” though Deezer’s metadata for some of the same releases credits Universal Music (Pty) Ltd alone.
