Palmetto Publishing has released Closet Space, a new horror novel by George Dyer Jr.

George Dyer Jr., author of Closet Space

On September 15, 2026, Palmetto Publishing, based in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, announced the release of Closet Space, a new horror novel by George Dyer Jr. The book was published on September 1, 2026. It is a multi-generational supernatural thriller that follows one family’s entanglement with an ancient evil across decades, from the Jersey Shore to the suburbs of Wisconsin.

The story opens on two timelines. In 1926, a young Sicilian woman named Sofia D’Alessandro flees her homeland carrying a secret more terrifying than the authorities pursuing her. During her passage to America, she encounters a figure with eyes like black voids and yellow jackets spilling from its mouth, a being that attaches itself to her bloodline with a whispered phrase: “She’s in the corner.”

Decades later, a boy named Gregory Brodeur is growing up in a house steeped in a dark history no one has explained to him. Sensitive and perceptive in ways that leave him vulnerable, Gregory begins to detect something lurking in the walls and closets of his family’s home. As the 1960s give way to the 1970s, he discovers that the house was claimed by something long before his family arrived, and it has no intention of letting go.

The deeper Gregory digs into the past, the more he realizes his struggles may not end on a positive note. The novel frames his fight as an underdog story, pitting a young person against forces older than memory with no guarantee of survival.
