Raad Records is an Egyptian, artist- and employee-owned independent record label co-founded by rapper Wegz alongside Asem Tag, its CEO, and Malik Tag, its managing director. Apple Music’s own catalogue metadata credits Raad Records as the phonogram rights holder on Wegz’s releases going back to at least 2017, well before the label had any relationship with a major.
Its roster extends beyond Wegz. A February 2026 label-profile launch on the MENA music platform Harfan Harfan listed five other signed acts alongside him: Amaka Jaji, Shams, Zad, El Nashmy and GAZZZZ.
In September 2025, Raad Records and Wegz became the first exclusive regional signing of AWAL Middle East, the Sony Music-owned artist-services division’s new Dubai operation. Under that arrangement the label keeps ownership of its masters, and AWAL provides services rather than acquiring rights. Apple’s catalogue confirms the credit line stayed “RAAD Records” on releases issued after the AWAL deal, including the 12-track Aqareb (Side B) (15 December 2025), with no AWAL or Sony entity appearing on the phonogram line.
