Rain Labs

Based in
Accra, Ghana
Founder
Albert Donkor (Trebla)

Rain Labs, styled rain. labs on release credits, is a music company based in Accra and London. Its own site describes it as a “boutique music marketing company” and lists digital distribution, public relations, brand partnerships, campaign strategy, streaming platform marketing, creative production and sonic branding among its services. It is led by co-founder Albert Donkor, who records and is credited as Trebla.

A UK company, RAIN LABS ENTERTAINMENT LTD, was incorporated on 7 September 2021 and remains active on the Companies House register under number 13606176, with a registered office in Northampton and SIC code 93290. Albert Donkor is its sole active person with significant control, notified on 14 April 2023, with the nature of control recorded as significant influence or control. No shareholding band is disclosed on the register. It could not be established from any document checked whether that UK entity is the contracting party for the company’s Ghanaian operations or a separate vehicle.

On 5 February 2025 Virgin Music Group, the label and artist services division of Universal Music Group, announced a partnership with Rain Labs covering digital distribution, marketing, creative production and brand partnerships. Before that, Donkor has stated publicly that the company’s distribution ran through Vydia.

Phonogram credit lines on Rain Labs releases changed direction during 2025. Earlier releases read as the artist’s own entity under exclusive rights or licence to rain. Labs. From April 2025, releases begin to read as rain. Labs under exclusive licence from the artist’s entity, a formulation in which the label rather than the artist asserts the phonogram right.
