Umuthi Othi Thi (Pty) Ltd is the independent record label run by South African Afro-pop duo Blaq Diamond — Ndumiso Mdletshe and Siphelele Dunywa. The pair launched it as Umuthi Records in June 2020, initially as a joint venture with their then-label Ambitiouz Entertainment, with singer Sibahle signed as its first artist.
The duo split from Ambitiouz Entertainment in December 2021 and continued operating the label independently. It is named in their subsequent High Court litigation against Ambitiouz (Mdletshe and Another v Youtube Channel and Another, South Gauteng High Court, case 724 of 2023), which the duo won. Since 2022 it has held the phonogram (℗) credit on Blaq Diamond’s own catalogue, including the single “Qoma” and the 2024 album Zulu Romance, distributed via Electromode.
Umuthi Othi Thi has no independently confirmed company registration on file — South Africa’s CIPC has no public search tool — and no dedicated website; its live channels are Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
