Visa For Music (VFM) is an annual professional market and showcase festival for music from Africa and the Middle East, held over four days each November in Rabat, Morocco. Alongside public showcases across venues including the Théâtre Mohammed V, it runs an industry market with conferences, speed-meetings and training sessions that bring together artists, promoters and label executives from across the two regions and beyond.
The event was created in 2014 by Brahim El Mazned and is organized and produced by Anya Culture, a Rabat-based cultural engineering structure he leads, in partnership with the Association Atlas Azawan, which he also founded. It is not a private company but runs with backing from Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Moroccan Bureau of Copyright.
Visa For Music is one of the few dedicated business-to-business platforms for the African and Middle Eastern music trade, giving it a market-making role beyond any single label or festival: acts and professionals booked or signed through VFM showcases can carry that exposure into distribution and touring deals well outside Morocco.
