Aristokrat Records Nigeria Limited is a record label headquartered in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, founded and led by Piriye Isokrari. It is best known for signing Burna Boy in 2011 and releasing his 2013 debut album L.I.F.E; Burna Boy later departed to found his own label, Spaceship Music.
960 Music Group holds a stake it describes, in 2026 Nigerian federal court filings, as 40 per cent of Aristokrat, tracing to a purchase first reported in 2013 alongside a matching stake in Hypertek Digital. That stake is now contested: 960 Music Group is suing in the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt (960 Music Ltd v. Aristokrat Records Nigeria Limited & Ors, FHC/PH/CS/188/2024) to void Aristokrat’s 2024 sale of Burna Boy’s early catalogue and master recordings to Spaceship Music, alleging the sale was concluded without shareholder knowledge, consent or board approval.
A related criminal charge (Commissioner of Police v. Aristokrat Records Nigeria Limited & Anor, FHC/L/1087/2025) was struck out by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi in June 2026 for lack of diligent prosecution, a procedural outcome rather than a ruling on the underlying ownership dispute. The civil suit remains active.
