Flip The Music is a Ghanaian record label, management and marketing company based in Accra, founded in 2020 by the artist manager Emmanuel Sedo, who works under the name Electro Mirror and is the company’s president. It signed the singer Gyakie (Jackline Acheampong) in its first year and she remains its headline artist.
The company is independent and Ghanaian-owned, and the structure of its major-label relationship is the point worth recording. In March 2021 Flip The Music announced a worldwide partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records UK. Gyakie stayed signed to Flip The Music; her recordings were licensed to Sony for a term rather than assigned. Phonogram credits on releases between 2022 and 2025 name Gyakie personally alongside Flip The Music as licensor, with Sony Music Entertainment West Africa Limited as exclusive licensee. Her 2026 single Treasure carries a Flip The Music credit alone, with no Sony credit.
The arrangement is one of a small group of Ghanaian licensing structures often compared with Amaarae’s Interscope deal through Golden Angel and Black Sherif’s Empire deal through RBA, in which the local company keeps the masters. Flip The Music has no website; its public channels are social accounts.
