Jonzing World Entertainment Ltd is a Lagos-based Nigerian record label and management company founded by recording artist and executive D’Prince (Charles Enebeli), with the Jonzing World label arm launching on 22 March 2019. D’Prince, the younger brother of Don Jazzy, began his own career at Mo’ Hits Records before starting the venture.
D’Prince has stated publicly that he registered Jonzing World Entertainment Ltd with Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission in 2018 as an independent company, and has rejected descriptions of it as a Mavin Records or Mavin Global subsidiary. That statement sits alongside a more tangled reality on paper: catalogue credits for the label’s best-known signee, Rema, carry a joint Jonzing World/Mavin phonogram line, and Don Jazzy publicly welcomed Rema to Mavin Global when he signed in 2019. No corporate filing naming Jonzing World’s shareholders, or confirming whether Universal Music Group’s 2024 majority investment in Mavin Global extended to it, could be located.
Rema remains the label’s most prominent act, with Jonzing World credited on the phonogram line of the large majority of his catalogue, including the platinum-certified “Calm Down” and the Grammy-nominated album Heis. The label’s other signings have included Gdzilla, Glorious and Bagetti; Ruger, an early signee, has since departed. The company’s own website currently serves only a placeholder page.
