Togo: NIHTAEL expands work in digital distribution and artist development

Nodjigno Pierre Yao NIHTAEL, a Togolese music professional, is widening his work in digital distribution, artist development, cultural entrepreneurship and media through Façonné Music.

His distribution activity through Façonné Music has covered releases by more than 50 Togolese artists. The roster includes:

  • Togo Joachin Migos
  • SCENARIO
  • IROK

It also extends to a number of emerging acts. His responsibilities include preparing music for digital platforms and helping artists build more structured online profiles.

Artist development focus#

Façonné Music functions as the main platform for NIHTAEL’s music sector work. He supports artists in navigating digital distribution, with attention to release preparation, artist identity, online visibility and longer-term career planning.

Wider creative economy roles#

NIHTAEL has also worked with BADA Investment, led by King Sena Bada III, to build relationships with artists, producers, media professionals and other cultural entrepreneurs. That collaboration has moved his work beyond distribution into broader parts of the creative economy.

Working with his team, he has contributed to coverage of festivals and cultural activities in Togo and neighbouring Benin. Assignments have included events tied to Togo’s Independence Day celebrations and work in northern Togo.

The mix of distribution, media and event work has given him exposure to different parts of the West African cultural ecosystem and reflects the interconnected roles required to support artists as music consumption moves towards digital platforms.

After working on distribution for more than 50 artists, NIHTAEL plans to continue supporting emerging and established talent. He aims to support a more professional music ecosystem in which Togolese and other African artists can use digital distribution, media and industry networks to reach wider audiences.
