Spaceship Entertainment

Independent Nigerian record label founded by Burna Boy in 2015, holding the copyright in his master recordings.

Based in
Lagos, Nigeria

Spaceship Entertainment (legal name Spaceship Incorporated Limited, also trading as Spaceship Records and Spaceship Collective) is an independent Nigerian record label founded by Lagos artist Burna Boy (Damini Ogulu) on 18 February 2015, after his prior deal with Aristokrat Records ended in mid-2014.

The label holds the copyright in Burna Boy’s master recordings. Since August 2023, the phonogram credit on his catalogue reads “Spaceship under exclusive license to Atlantic Recording Corporation for the world excluding Africa,” placing ownership with Spaceship and licensed exploitation with Atlantic outside the African continent. No public filing naming Spaceship’s shareholders or its precise incorporation jurisdiction has been located.

Beyond its role as Burna Boy’s rights-holding vehicle, trade profiles describe Spaceship as a wider artist collective operating out of Lagos.
