Knife Capital is a venture capital investment manager founded in 2010 and headquartered in Cape Town, with additional offices in London and Jersey. It describes itself as accelerating the international expansion of African innovation-driven businesses through knowledge, networks and funding.
Its vehicles include Knife Fund I (HBD Venture Capital), the Section 12J venture capital companies KNF Ventures (2016) and KNF Ventures II (2020), and Knife Fund III, launched in 2021. It also runs the Grindstone Accelerator, a year-long programme for South African SMEs launched in 2013.
Knife Capital invested in Cape Town ticketing platform Quicket in 2017 through KNF Ventures, having taken the company into Grindstone in 2016. Its own exits page records the 2024 sale of Quicket to Ticketmaster. Terms were not disclosed by any party.
