Nigeria’s Loti Returns With New Single ‘Talk & Do’

Nigerian Afro-R&B singer Loti has released his first solo single of 2026, 'Talk & Do,' on August 7 via Elite Collective.

Nigerian Afro-R&B singer Loti has released his first solo single of 2026, “Talk & Do,” on August 7 via Elite Collective. The track arrives after the 2025 EP Gorimapa Gangsta Vol. 2: Lotstar.

Born Emelie Dan-Nwabueze in Lagos, Loti is known for a genre-fluid approach that merges Afrobeats with R&B and narrative-driven songwriting. He has collaborated with a range of artists, including:

  • BNXN
  • Taves
  • MOLIY
  • Toyé
  • Psycho YP
  • Tim Lyre
  • Trill Xoe

He gained wider recognition with the Gorimapa Gangsta EP and its breakout single “Mainland.” The music video for “Mainland” crossed 50,000 YouTube views, earned airplay across West and East Africa, and sparked the #MainlandChallenge, which generated more than 2 million social media interactions. Loti later released the project Honeymoon Phase before returning to the Gorimapa Gangsta series with Lotstar. That EP has accumulated over 700,000 streams on Spotify and features rising acts Taves and Kokoe.

“Talk & Do” continues the narrative arc of reinvention, drawing from a complicated secret relationship. Loti described the tension between wanting to claim a love openly and a past that forces secrecy.

“Imagine falling in love with someone but you guys can’t come out with it,” Loti says. “As much as I’d have loved to walk through the front door with her, I had been involved with her best friend six years before.”

The single is available on all major streaming platforms.

Covers the business of African music: labels, distribution, touring and rights, across West Africa and the diaspora.
