Martell Swift Academy has opened applications for its first Kenyan cohort, selecting 25 emerging music creatives based in Kenya for mentorship, workshops and a final showcase in Nairobi.
The pan-African programme, launched in August 2026, is curated by Africa House and is scheduled to expand across the continent over the next 12 months. It aims to support up to 100 emerging creatives during its first year.
The Nairobi edition will combine mentorship, workshops and practical creative development. Participants will receive guidance from music and creative industry professionals including:
- filmmaker and storyteller Michael Gachiri
- music publicist and curator Anyiko Owoko
- musician Bensoal
- singer-songwriter and producer Njerae
- music journalist Joey Akan
The programme will end with a three-week creative hub where participants apply the knowledge and skills gained during mentorship and workshops. That practical phase will include a music showcase featuring the selected artists.
Organisers said the initiative is intended to create greater access to industry expertise and professional networks for emerging creatives who may otherwise have limited opportunities to connect with established professionals.
All in-person activities will take place in Nairobi. Applicants should be prepared to cover their own transportation and accommodation costs.
