United States hardcore band Haywire 617 marked its signing to Roadrunner Records by throwing $5,000 in cash into the pit during its set at Sound and Fury fest last weekend. On Wednesday, the band announced its debut album for the label, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, due Oct. 2, and released the first single and video, “Interstate Love Affair.”

The video opens with footage of the band making it rain at the festival, then moves through a series of chaotic scenes: firecrackers, hotel rooms being trashed, and sentient amplifiers. The clip reflects the band’s hardcore style.

Since forming in 2023, Haywire 617 has played a 96-date tour across all 50 states in 100 days in 2024. The band is set to open for Turnstile and the Circle Jerks this fall, and also performs under bridges for free. As of this month, more than 250 future shows are planned.

The band has released five records in three years, most recently 2024’s Conditioned for Demolition. The upcoming album was produced by Citizen’s Mat Kerekes and mixed by Taylor Young, with cameos from members of NOTHING and the Aggrolites.
