The Collecting Society of The Gambia (CSG) is The Gambia’s national collecting society, inaugurated in 2013 under the Gambia Copyright Act 2004. It is based in Banjul and collects and distributes royalties for Gambian artists whose works are used by broadcasters and other commercial users.
Its governing board draws on leaders from Gambian creative-sector associations, including the Musicians Union of The Gambia and the Gambia Association of Music Producers and Promoters. The society received initial support from ECOWAS and the Gambian government, but later press coverage has questioned whether it has been able to fulfil its mandate, citing funding shortfalls and a weak secretariat.
CSG has no confirmed live website; its main channel is Facebook (facebook.com/csgambia).
