The Bureau Burkinabe du Droit d’Auteur (BBDA) is Burkina Faso’s copyright collecting society, based in Ouagadougou and created in 1985. It is a public professional body with legal personality and financial autonomy.
It collects copyright royalties from users across the national territory and calculates and pays them out to authors, performers, publishers and producers whose works have been exploited. It manages both Burkinabe and foreign repertoire through representation agreements, and reports distributions of more than 540 million CFA francs to creators.
