For each of those 20 dates every entry on every market chart was read, the four African markets Spotify publishes a daily chart for and the aggregate global chart were removed, and the surviving entries were grouped by the resolved country of origin of the lead artist. dates_present counts how many of the 20 dates that country appeared outside Africa at all, entries counts chart positions summed across dates, artists counts distinct lead artists, and streams sums the daily stream counts the charts report across the whole window. share_pct is each origin's share of the 4,644,291 streams African artists earned outside Africa across the window, and cum_share_pct is the running total down the table. nov05_streams and nov05_share_pct isolate the final date. Nigeria is listed with zeroes because it appeared on none of the 20 dates, and that row is a measured zero rather than a missing value. A country reaching no chart outside Africa is a statement about Spotify's published daily Top 200s and nothing else: it is not a statement about that country's total streams, its radio, its touring or its listeners below position 200.","unit":"","license":"Afrobeats Wire's compilation and analysis are licensed CC BY 4.0.
