Three are audited to the rand at company level: licence fees collected, R223,119,341, being 'Total revenue' in the audited Statement of Comprehensive Income, note 13.1 (License fees); the distributable amount after tax, R213,565,286, being the company column's distributable amount after the transfer to the retained CSI fund and immediately before the royalty distribution line that offsets it; and royalties allocated but not yet paid at the reporting date, R303,662,657, being the closing balance of 'Other financial liabilities' (note 11), described in the statements as royalties available for distribution plus cumulative interest on funds invested, identical for group and company. These three are already registered in this desk's sampra-revenue-and-distribution-liability dataset and are restated here unchanged so that the payout comparison sits in one table. Two are stated in the report's own prose, rounded to R0.1m, and are carried at that precision with no attempt to recover the unrounded figure: total income for 2024 of R282.5m, from the Financial Summary page ('SAMPRA's total income for 2024 was R282.5m'), which is a wider measure than the audited licence-fee revenue line and is not the same quantity; and royalties processed and paid of R176.7m, stated twice in the report, in the strategy section ('We processed and paid R176.7m ... of royalties to our members and international sister CMOs and agencies') and again in the Business Review ('A total of R176.7m in royalties was processed and paid to members and sister CMOs during the period under review'). Because that figure is rounded to R0.1m, every ratio derived from it in this desk's sampra-unpaid-balance-ratios-2024 dataset carries an imprecision of up to R50,000 in its numerator or denominator and is reported to two decimal places at most. The sixth row, the unpaid balance in excess of the year's distributable amount, R90,097,371, is arithmetic on two audited figures, R303,662,657 minus R213,565,286, and is reported as a subtraction rather than as an explanation: the report does not age the unpaid balance, so this desk does not claim to know how old that residue is or why it is there. One vintage point matters for reading the payout line. The report states that the 2023 distribution was processed in September 2024 and that the 2024 distribution was intended to be processed in September 2025, so the R176.7m paid during 2024 discharges the prior year's allocation, and the closing unpaid balance includes a 2024 distribution that was scheduled rather than overdue at the reporting date. Confidence is marked medium rather than high because two of the six figures are stated to R0.1m rather than audited to the rand. Nothing here is estimated, projected or extrapolated.
