Spotify's African panel covers only 4 markets (Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa), and all 4 fall inside Deezer's 9. For each of those 4 overlapping markets, every Deezer snapshot date (81 or 82 per market, 16 Aug to 7 Nov 2026) was paired against the Spotify snapshot for the same country and the same calendar date (324 paired market-days, no gaps). Every Deezer chart_entry title+artist was normalised (lowercase, punctuation stripped, whitespace collapsed) and checked against the full set of normalised title+artist pairs on that day's Spotify top-200 for the same country. A Deezer slot counts as matched if its normalised title+artist string appears anywhere in that day's Spotify top-200; otherwise it never_matched. The same procedure restricted to Deezer positions 1-10 produced the top10 columns. A stale-collector check (MD5 fingerprint of position-ordered titles vs MD5 of alphabetised title membership, compared across each market's snapshots) found 77-78 distinct orderings and 77-78 distinct memberships out of 81-82 snapshots in every market, consistent with a live, re-ranking feed rather than a cached payload.","unit":"count","license":"Afrobeats Wire's compilation and analysis are licensed CC BY 4.0.
