The published basis normalises both sides by stripping accents and every non-alphanumeric character and lower-casing, then counts a name as African only where every roster entry bearing that normalised name agrees on one African country. That rule has a side effect: the 165 roster names written wholly in Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew or CJK script all normalise to the same empty key, which spans many countries and is therefore excluded, and one of those 165 names is Egyptian. The raw basis matches on the untransformed name string instead, which recovers that Egyptian credit and yields one more matchable African name. Both bases use identical stream attribution: a row is counted only where the lead artist is not classified African, and a row crediting more than one African feature is attributed once. The comparison exists to show which reported figures depend on the matching rule. export_feature_streams restricts to the 71 charts outside Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa. Chart streams are not total streams: this measures presence inside a market's published daily Top 200, not catalogue consumption.
